| Cake Of The Week |

| This week's cake is The Windmill cake. This is an extreme cake meaning it has a motorized element. The windmill actually turns! This cake as with all 3D cakes is a level 3 cake made with buttercream. This cake as shown served 132 and retails for $990. The cake elements were Buttercream, modeling chocolate, gumpaste flowers, chocolate rocks, airbrushing & hand painting. The base is covered with gumpaste made to look like leather. The edge of the base is wrapped in rope to give that country living feel. The motor is in the top of the armiture that was made to support the massive pylon cake that created the windmill. The wires ran through the center of the armiture and attached to the power pack underneath the base. A volume control device was used to regulate the speed of the rotation on the windmill. This was a fun cake to make! |
